Family Vacation

Since we are now a "family", we decided we wanted to start a tradition of having family vacations with just the three of us. This year, we decided on Savannah, Georgia. I have never been and Win has only been on a work trip so he didn't get to see the city like you normally would. We started our trip Thursday and got back home on Monday. Since we were traveling with a 7 1/2 month old, we decided to break up the trip. We stayed in Atlanta on Thursday night. We ventured to Ikea before we checked in to our hotel and had a blast. Molly Grace scored an awesome tunnel and a circus tent. (along with a closet organizer to hang in her closet) We ate at The Varsity for dinner and then headed to the hotel.

Buckhead- where our hotel was.

Happy to be on vacation!!

We woke up Friday morning and went to a few shops and then made our way to Savannah.

Ellis Square

Ellis Square is a family friendly park area and Molly Grace loved playing in the grass!

It was raining on our first night in Savannah so we had to find a close place to eat. We found a pizza place called, Your Pie, where you make your own pizza. It was delicious and a fun atmosphere. It made us think of Seinfeld when Kramer wanted to start his own pizza business where "you make your own pie."

On our second day, we wanted to be touristy so we took a Trolly Tour around Savannah. It was a 90 minute trolly ride around the city and we learned about the history of many of the buildings and squares. That afternoon, we went out on our own and walked around and got icecream at Leopold's. It was delicious!

On Sunday, we were headed to Tybee Island to walk on the beach for a little while. When we got there, we could not find a parking spot anywhere. At this beach, you have to pay to park. Anywhere. Even Arby's. So, needless to say, we skipped the beach and headed to the lighthouse. We also went to Fort Palaski and walked around. This was our favorite day of our vacation! We ate at Rocks on the River for dinner and then headed back to the hotel.

We had a great family vacation this year enjoying time with just the three of us away from our home. It was a lot of fun but we are worn out!

Everyone was happy to be home!
